Grateful for Grapefruit

How about some grapefruit? I absolutely love my fair share of grapefruit throughout the week. So many benefits ! Don’t stop here ! Let me share some information you probably had no clue about when eating this fab fruit.



Great for the immune system: Grapefruits are rich in vitamin C. Often when women are having issues like yeast or bacterial infections in the womb, it correlates to a taxation on the immune system. Boosting the immune system will support the body in combating what's causing discomfort and expelling toxins.



Great for fertility: There's limited scientific evidence for this but it is knowledge that has been passed down for years so it keeps coming up in research about grapefruit. Some scientists believe that eating grapefruit helps thin cervical mucous allowing the sperm to travel more easily into the fallopian tubes.



Great for combating tumors: Grapefruits have lycopene, a carotenoid phytonutrient. This phytonutrient helps combat oxygen free radicals that often damage cells. Research has even found that men who eat foods like grapefruits in combination with drinking green tea, have a lower risk of developing prostate cancer. Men with prostate cancer that eat grapefruit show DNA cell regeneration. Also, phytonutrients in grapefruit called limonoids inhibit tumor formation by promoting the formation of glutathione-S-transferase, which is a detoxifying enzyme. It helps the liver make toxic compounds more water soluble for excretion from the body. Grapefruit pulp contains glucarates, which are compounds that can help prevent breast cancer.



Great for Alkalizing the Body: The juice of grapefruit alkalines the body relieving the discomforts of having an acidic body. The fibers or rind of the fruit aid in digestion making bowel movements easier.



Great Source of Anti-oxidants: The anti-oxidants in grapefruit can prevent heart disease.



Great for Lowering Cholesterol: The pectin in grapefruits reduce high cholesterol.



Great for Preventing Kidney Stones, Colon Cancer, and Weight Loss: I'm sure many of you have heard of the grapefruit diets craze and more. Grapefruits are great for flushing your system out. But you don't just want the juice you want the fiber too so that you can benefit from all of the fat burning enzymes of grapefruit. Eating it in its natural state provides exceptional health benefits. Waste = Weight, so when you eat foods that aid digestion you will also shed weight. The perfect example of this philosophy is my testimony of getting a colonic and in that session alone I shed 2-3 inches off of my waistline.


Great for Insomnia: Drinking a glass of fresh grapefruit juice before bed can help put you to sleep. It also can help a person gain relief from fatigue when drank during the day. Interesting paradox!



Great for Diabetes: It aids with flushing out the sweets and starches that get trapped in the body. It also helps prevent diabetes. And especially with women who develop diabetes as a result of pregnancy or experience leg swelling eating grapefruit assists with that.
